About Lalezar
Lalezar is a project dedicated to preserving and reviving the musical heritage of Iran and Persian-speaking communities, with the goal of connecting the cultural past to the present and future.
This initiative began in 2019 under the name "Lalezar Records" when our goal was to recover and share works that had been less heard over time. Through platforms like SoundCloud and Instagram (@lalezar.records), we shared rare pieces from Persian-speaking artists with our audience. However, the limitations of these platforms, such as the inability to offer multimedia content and share works in a comprehensive way, led us towards a bigger goal.
To realize this vision, we expanded Lalezar and launched lalezar.online 🔗. This website, supporting both Persian and English languages, is a space that not only includes music but also images, documents, and historical narratives, offering a complete experience of Persian and Iranian musical culture. Lalezar is now a platform for research and collective participation, where anyone with an interest can contribute. You can help preserve this heritage by donating personal archives such as old tapes, photos, films, research papers, or oral histories, or by providing financial support.
